    Overview:  The mission of the Chelsea Collaborative is to empower Chelsea residents to enhance the social and economic health of the community and its people; and to hold institutional decision makers accountable to the community. We implement a collection of community initiativesdeveloped and led by residentsto address persistent issues of inequity, which negatively impact the well-being of Chelsea residents, particularly those most vulnerable among us such as children, youth, immigrants, and refugees. Our initiatives meet the basic needs of Chelsea residents, foster leadership and citizenship among newcomers, develop the next generation of leaders, respond effectively to crises, and create systemic change that increases equity and justice for years to come. 
    The Chelsea Collaborative has a 30+ year history of building relationships with historically marginalized groups, engaging them civically through outreach and community education, and mobilizing them to have their voices heard and effect systemic change. We are a trusted pillar of Chelseas immigrant and Latinx communities and we have systems and structures in place to support our community to identify and address the social and economic justice issues impacting their lives. The importance of civic engagement and participation in decision-making processes is a cornerstone of our mission and day-to-day work in Chelsea. It is highlighted in everything we do throughout the year.  
    Youth Employment Coach Qualifications: This position requires experience working with teens (2+ years), proven ability to mentor and support urban youth, commitment to work for 8 weeks Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays, strong communication skills and knowledge of Chelsea businesses and non-profit organizations. The candidate should be creative, willing to adapt, energetic and motivated. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. The Chelsea Collaborative is an equal opportunity employer.
    The Summer Youth Employment Initiative employs 200 young people, ages 14-18, in Chelsea each summer. The program engages youth in dynamic training on leadership and 21st century skills. Youth then go on to work in jobs that are related to careers they may be interested in and can provide skill-building experience. The program runs for 7 weeks, youth work 20-25 hours a week, which includes hours at their placement and Friday training and bonding activities. The goal of the program is to equip our youth for their futures: to be responsible and financially stable individuals who are engaged with their community.
    Supervisors will be mentoring and engaging youth, supporting them in their professional and personal growth. Supervisors will be supporting in youth facilitating park activities and community engagement.
